Greetings!!
A very slow start to the year hobby-wise due to numerous 'real life' tasks needing priority, but still I have managed to get some bits done.
Firstly I've painted up the 15mm WW2 building ready for my Rapid Fire game later in the month. As you may have seen in previous posts I've been using tubes of artist acrylics to paint a fair few of my 28mm buildings, but for these 15mm buildings I decided to use a mixtures of GW Contrast and Layer paints, and I'm quite happy with the way they turned out.
My next task has been to assemble the first of three infantry regiments for the Ayton 18th Century game (a period of history I know nothing about), and as you can see I've done this and have actually managed to get them undercoated.
Having got them to this stage I thought I'd have a quick experiment regarding the process and colours I would use to get these units table top ready and so I volunteered one of the figures for special duty.
And here he is...
Needs a little bit of tidying up and I need to decided what to do about the face i.e. do I try and paint eyes, something I've avoided doing of late. That said I'm pretty happy with the colour scheme and think the process I'm going to use should not be too labour intensive - lets see if I'm saying that after the first regiment is completed. You'll notice I've started to record the colours I use to paint 'uniformed' figures so I can reproduce the correct colours each time.
Further painting and construction will probably be put on hold for a couple of weeks as I look to make the Bunker a little more winterproof (warmer).
